The Academy for Evangelism in Theological Education was founded in 1973 to resource, encourage, and support professors who teach evangelism in seminaries, theological schools, and universities. The academy holds a yearly meeting that serves to explore cutting edge issues and trends in evangelism today. Each year the annual meeting is held in a different city, usually at an educational institution, and hosted by a professor who is a member of the Academy.
The Academy also publishes yearly Witness: The Journal of the Academy for Evangelism in Theological Education. Scholarly articles are written and peer reviewed for the benefit of teachers, students, and practitioners of evangelism.
